Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and our nation’s response, regular apprentice and journeyman courses scheduled at the Training Center are cancelled. Training Center staff is currently working on distance learning systems to provide apprentices with coursework required for advancement. Information and guidance was sent to apprentices today detailing the plan of action. This information was sent to physical addresses and email currently on file at the Training Center so if you have recently moved or relocated, please contact the Training Center to insure accurate information.
Please add email@example.com to your email address book to insure delivery of necessary information being sent by the Training Center related to online training.
The Training Center follows the same protocol as the business office. With that in mind, please read the following notice. The Training Center phone number is 816.761.8800.
Dear Brothers & Sisters:
Under Advisement of the UA and their COVID-19 Protocol Our Doors Will Remain Locked until further notice.
⇒No Visitors Allowed, unless necessary for operations, mail, cleaning, sanitizing, maintenance, etc. Please call first to be allowed in the building at 816.523.1533
⇒We have implemented a 30-day grace period on Window Dues. Whatever your “current status” is by end of March 31st, will stay the same until April 30, 2020.
⇒To pay Dues, you can mail your check, money orders or drop your payment in mail slot located at the right-hand side of the front doors, receipts will be mailed.
⇒Health and Welfare will be under this Protocol as well. If it’s a “Necessary Visit” to Health and Welfare, please call first to be allowed in the building at 816.361.0206
⇒The Health and Welfare Trustees have approved a 30-day grace period on the enrollment.
⇒If there is information from either office that can be mailed instead of picked up, we will forward it to you.
We will continue to serve our members while still following all applicable guidelines and we ask that you do your part as well.
With COVID-19 information changing and moving fast we are trying to keep both Local 533 and Training Center Websites up to date.

The Kansas City Construction Industry has created “Care for Construction Heroes” hot line 816.595.4164. The hotline has been establish to provide an additional resource for field workers to call in for unsafe worksites during the COVID-19 pandemic. All callers WILL remain anonymous and the information will be transcribed to an email format and direct to the contractor and appropriate craft(s).
